Flow Vision and Smart Baseline Overview

Understand irregular irrigations, view your irrigation data, and adjust expected flow rates to account for real field conditions.

Flow Vision

Flow Vision is a flow rate chart that displays the expected GPM and the actual GPM over the time of the irrigation. The expected GPM is the theoretical flow rate based on the blocks number of plants, emitter rate, and number of emitters.

On the right of the page are the irrigation details. You can add any Notes about the irrigation here for future reference.

To investigate whether an individual irrigation is similar to a previous irrigation, you can use the Compare tool. Simply select Compare, choose a previous irrigation from the drop down, and select the Compare option in the lower right of the panel. This will present a side-by-side view for easy comparison.

Smart Baseline

Not everything in the field will be perfect, or perform at its optimal level. Smart Baseline allows you to set a realistic expected flow rate that's grounded in actual observed performance from your blocks, rather than a theoretical calculation based on plants, emitters, emitter rates, etc. Each block has its own Smart Baseline setting.

As Smart Baseline is learning, you’ll need to calibrate it. Lumo will flag irrigations for your review if they are Irregular, meaning the expected flow rate is +/- 10% of the actual flow rate. By selecting the irrigation in question and viewing Flow Vision, you can Disagree with the status if you feel like that flow rate is actually normal. Smart Baseline will “learn” the new expected flow rate and use that rate to compare future irrigations.
