How to assemble the 4" wetware

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Equipment Needed

  • 17mm socket

  • 14mm wrench

  • 18mm wrench

  • Strap wrench

  • O-ring

  • Grease

  • Single-piece water filter with ¼” NPT thread

  • Blue tape

Installations Steps

Step 1

  • Starting clockwise from the filter, mark every other bolt with a dry erase marker

  • Slightly loosen each of those bolts with a 17mm socket

Step 2

  • Place the Lumo wrench in groove next to loosened bolt

  • Slide bracket underneath loosened bolt, use tool to align the bracket properly

  • Hold in place with one hand while re-tightening the bolt with the socket. Repeat across all marked bolts

Step 3

  • Remove diaphragm spring handle by loosening and removing the bleed

  • Test that brackets are properly positioned by placing dome on top and twisting to lock into brackets (remove black cap from dome first)

  • Remove dome again and replace the cap for transportation

  • Replace handle and bleed

Step 4

  • If loose, carefully tighten ¼” NPT plug on outlet side of valve with a 14mm wrench

  • Be sure not cross thread or over-tighten

Step 5

  • Remove the two-piece water filter that comes with the valve from the inlet side of the valve using an 18mm wrench

  • Replace with a single-piece water filter (same as 2” filters with ¼” NPT thread)

Step 6

  • Make sure both elbow pieces (inlet filter and elbow connector on top of chamber) are pointed toward the outlet side of the valve

Step 7

  • Place greased o-ring on the inside rim of the outlet side of the 4” flow meter

  • Replace water conditioner and secure it in place with blue tape

Step 8

  • Thread the flow meter onto the inlet side of the valve

  • Tighten with strap wrench (You need one person to hold the valve and a second person to tighten it with the wrench)

  • Make sure the flow sensor cable is positioned toward the top side and that the cable reaches the port on the dome

Step 9

  • Add the long tube to the outlet port on the top of the chamber

  • Add the short tube to the filter on the inlet side
