Upgrading a Gen2025 Dome to Gen2026 Dome (with quick connects)

How to replace a threaded-port Gen2025 dome with a quick-connect Gen2026 dome on the same wetware.

This guide explains how to replace a threaded-port Gen2025 dome with a quick-connect Gen2026 dome on the same wetware. This process can be done in the field without uninstalling the wetware from the manifold. Plan about 15 minutes per valve, and contact Lumo Support to verify the swap before you leave the block.

Before you start

Know your ports

  • Port A — white quick connect — takes the short tube

  • Port C — black quick connect — takes the long tube

Tools you'll need

  • Small flathead screwdriver

  • Cutting pliers or scissors

  • Green shark-bite release tool (included with the Gen2026 dome)

Swap procedure

Step 1 — Disconnect all cables, including the pressure sensor

Unplug every cable from the existing dome. Save the pressure sensor for last and treat it gently.

Pressure sensor: To release it without damage, depress the connector tab with a small flathead screwdriver, then slide the two halves of the connector straight apart.

Step 2 — Disconnect the hoses from the A and COM ports

Unthread the nut on each hose, then pull the hose off the port.

Step 3 — Cut the nub off the end of each hose

Use cutting pliers or scissors to trim the nub left at the end of each hose.

⚠ Make a clean cut: Cut straight across. A ragged or angled end will not seat properly in the quick connect ports.

Step 4 — Slide the nut off each hose

With the nub removed, slide the threaded nut off the end of each hose and set the nuts aside — the Gen2026 quick connects do not use them.

Step 5 — Remove the dome from the wetware

Lift the Gen2025 dome off the wetware and set it aside.

Step 6 — Seat the new Gen2026 dome and secure it

Place the Gen2026 dome on the wetware and secure it in position. Confirm the A and C ports are accessible before connecting the tubes.

Step 7 — Insert the short tube into Port A (white)

Push the short tube fully into the white quick connect at Port A until it stops.

Push past initial resistance: When you first feel resistance, keep pushing. The hose must seat all the way through the internal o-ring to make a tight seal.

Step 8 — Insert the long tube into Port C (black)

Push the long tube fully into the black quick connect at Port C until it stops.

Push past initial resistance: When you first feel resistance, keep pushing. The hose must seat all the way through the internal o-ring to make a tight seal.

Step 9 — Reconnect all cables

Reconnect every cable you removed in Step 1.

Pressure sensor: Connect the pressure sensor to Aux Port A, identified by its yellow band.

Step 10 — Contact Lumo Support to finalize and verify

The swap is not complete until Support confirms it. Have the last four characters of the dome's serial number ready.

Tip: Removing a hose from a quick connect

Use the included green shark-bite tool to depress the plastic ring on the quick connect while pulling the hose out.
